SNAPSHOT OF RESULTS
Support the Future of Constitutional Literacy. Donate Today!
Join us in empowering Solano County’s youth to deepen their understanding of the U.S. Constitution through the 14th Annual Solano County Constitution Essay Contest, commemorating the 238th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. Solano Constitution Discussion Group (CDG) leadership team is honored to be asked by the Constitutional Literacy Advocates, (CLA) board to take over and continue this amazing educational project. Your generous contributions will fuel the 2025 Constitution Essay Contest and sustain the vital work of the Solano Constitution Discussion Group (CDG) educational project, Constitution Literacy Youth Scholarship (CLYS), ensuring students and educators have the resources they need to thrive.

The premise of the Constitution Essay Contest is simple. “If Liberty and Freedom are to endure in our country, it is imperative that our young people have an understanding of our Founding Documents and are able to articulate and communicate those ideals and principles.”
Why Your Support Matters
This essay contest creates a spirit of competition which inspires high school students to explore the principles of the U.S. Constitution, fostering critical thinking and civic engagement. Since 2012, this initiative has:

-
Engaged 1,880 student participants.
-
Awarded over $14,900 in mini-grants to students and schools.
-
Distributed 6,000+ Pocket Constitutions to libraries and educators across Solano County.

With your help, we can continue this legacy, encouraging a new generation to appreciate and articulate the importance of our nation’s Founding Documents, including the 2025 theme: Why is the “Separation of Powers” as important today as it was when the Founders wrote the U.S. Constitution?
