About the event
Session #6: Article II - The President; Article III - The Fedural Judiciary; Article IV-VII - The States and the People
The Founders envisioned the President (Executive Branch) to have heavy responsibilities, but they limited and defined those responsibilities to just a few. Under the Articles of Confederation the Founders hoped all disputes could be solved in the state courts. Therefore, no federal system of courts was provided. It soon became apparent, however, that a higher court system was essential. Learn what powers the Founders discovered were essential to a federal judiciary. After establishing the three branches, the Constitution outlines the relationship between the states and the ultimate power of the people.
